Jasper: The Dog Behind the Club Traditions

At Tahoe Beach Club, we like to think of Jasper as more than just a dog, he’s family. If you’ve spent any time around the Club, chances are you’ve been on the receiving end of his signature greeting, a wagging tail and an unmistakable air of confidence that says, Welcome home.

So when it came time to name the pool and beach snack bar, there was no debate. Jasper’s Place wasn’t just a clever name, it was the only name. The vote was unanimous, and just like that, the most beloved pup had a permanent place in Tahoe Beach Club culture. But Jasper’s influence didn’t stop there.

It wasn’t long before his presence inspired a few of the Club’s most cherished traditions. First came Dogs on the Deck, an easygoing summer gathering where members and their four-legged friends enjoy cocktails, conversation, and some prime lounging. What started as a casual get-together quickly became a tradition, because let’s be honest, any excuse to hang out with your dog is a good one.

Then came Yappy Hour. Imagine the best beach happy hour, but with pups off-leash, running free, and indulging in Dan’s famous pumpkin and fresh cream pup cups while their humans sip wine and take in the sunset. It’s pure, unfiltered joy—exactly the kind of energy Jasper embodies.

So next time you grab a bite at Jasper’s Place, raise a glass (or a pup cup) to the dog who reminds us all to slow down, soak it in, and make the most of every moment at the Club. And if you see Jasper on his rounds, don’t forget to give him a scratch behind the ears—he’s been making this place feel like home since day one.
