Mirren-Hackford Dinner Fundraiser
Tahoe Beach Club was honored to host a fundraising dinner, hosted by film legends Taylor Hackford and Dame Helen Mirren. The event supported the Tahoe Douglas Fire and Rescue Helicopter Program.
Taylor Hackford is the Academy Award winning director of many beloved films including An Officer and a Gentleman and Ray. Helen Mirren, Academy Award winning actress with an immense body of work on stage and screen, was recently awarded the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award. The two charming hosts kicked off the evening by donating $10,000 for the program.
“It was a perfect Tahoe night. Friends and neighbors, gathered together to support a cause near and dear to the community. The goal…protect wildlife, properties, and the lake we love,” said Tahoe Beach Club CEO Patrick Rhamey.
The French country cuisine dinner was attended by 68 Tahoe Beach Club members and guests, all with a shared concern for Lake Tahoe environmental issues. The recent Caldor and Tamarack wildfires caused extensive damage to the Tahoe Basin, hugely impacting community infrastructure, personal property, and beloved wildlife. The money raised helps fund a new helicopter rescue program which greatly improves the community’s ability to respond, should such a crisis happen again.
If you’d like to help get the program off the ground, there’s no need to wait for the next fundraising dinner. You can show your financial support at tahoefire.org/helicopter and please spread the word throughout the community.
