Tahoe East Shore Kayaking
Living on the historically protected Nevada shoreline, you have access to some of the best kayaking spots on the East Shore of Lake Tahoe. With its crystal-clear waters, stunning mountain views, and tranquil coves, Lake Tahoe is a world-renowned location for adventures on the water. Here are some of our tried and true recommendations for exploring the lake by kayak.
Sand Harbor is a popular spot for kayakers and photographers alike due to the incredibly clear waters. Visitors paddle around the rocky coves and watch fish swim below their craft. We recommend taking a break to relax on the beach or hike one of the many trails in the area.
Emerald Bay is one of the most photographed spots on Lake Tahoe and is an incredible spot for kayaking. We suggest paddling around the bay and exploring Fannette Island, which has a small castle perched high on the rocks. Plus, kayakers enjoy paddling to the base of Eagle Falls and taking a short hike to see the waterfall up close.
Skunk Harbor is a secluded cove and hidden gem on the East Shore. Although a bit harder to find, the adventure is worth it once you enjoy the quiet beach, picnic area, and hiking trails. The water is calm and clear, making it a great spot for family kayaking.
Cave Rock is a unique excursion. The deep blue water and spectacular rock formations are a treat to see up close for those interested in the volcanic history of the lake.
As a Member of Tahoe Beach Club, you have access to our private Clubhouse and lakeside amenities, making your kayaking adventure even more enjoyable. Use of kayaks are a gratis amenity from our private beach, so grab your family, and maybe a quick sandwich from the Starboard Bar and Grille, and head out for a day of kayaking on the East Shore of Lake Tahoe.
