January Snowfall
There’s snow place like home… especially at Tahoe Beach Club. In the past month, Stateline received over 10 inches of snow for a total of 400+ inches in the past year. But not to fret, life in the basin thrives on snowfall. Here are a few perks of the recent weather to beat your winter woes.
Recreation in the basin is at its best during the winter months. Fresh snow means powder at Heavenly, Palisades, North Star, and Mount Rose, making for some fantastic skiing. But if that’s not your speed, there is a beautiful spot for snowshoeing next door to the Club. And if you’re feeling especially adventurous, snowmobiling for the whole family is less than 2 miles away.
But the snow means more than winter fun; it also keeps our region beautiful and protected throughout the year. Heavy snowfall leads to higher lake levels during the summer, which makes for great boating, fishing, and beach trips; plus, it supports local wildlife. On top of it all, snowfall keeps the dreaded fire season at bay and makes for prolific wildflowers during the summer months.
All in all, snowfall is a part of life in the Tahoe Basin. It certainly has its quirks, but overall, our environment and community flourish under a blanket of snow. Yet another reason Tahoe Beach Club is your home base year-round.
