Hey Beach Clubbers, we're excited to share how Tahoe Beach Club has taken strides to safeguard the beauty of Lake Tahoe this summer. As stewards of an absolute natural wonder, we're not just talking the talk; we're walking the walk – or rather, cleaning the beach with some seriously cool tech!
Ever heard of the "BeBot"? It's not a sci-fi character, but rather the West Coast's pioneer beach-cleaning robot. This technological champ, developed in collaboration with ECO-CLEAN SOLUTIONS and the League to Save Lake Tahoe, is the Lake's secret weapon against litter. We're talking about those pesky bits of trash hiding beneath the sand, including the notorious microplastics that linger FOREVER in our environment.
Sure, we've got the BeBot doing its thing, but we believe in starting at the source – that's you and me!
Here are some tips to be the first line of defense in keeping Tahoe blue:
Ditch Single-Use Plastics: Swap plastic bags, straws, and takeout containers for reusable alternatives. It's a small change with a big impact.
Recycle Right: Give your recyclables a fighting chance by properly sorting them. Be a recycling superhero.
Bye-Bye Microbeads: Check product labels and avoid those sneaky microbeads that wreak havoc on aquatic life.
Join a Beach Cleanup: Roll up your sleeves and get hands-on. Participate in the League to Save Lake Tahoe’s beach cleanups.
Support Cleanup Organizations: Tahoe Beach Club just raised money for Clean Up the Lake at our Alpenglow Festival; however, there are other amazing groups out there tackling pollution head-on.
Educate and Spread the Word: Share your knowledge with friends and family. Small conversations can lead to big change.
